from and currently based in Philadelphia. I attended Philadelphia’s High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) as a Visual Arts major, and later received my BFA in Graphic & Interactive Design at Tyler School of Art & Architecture (Temple University). My background in both fine art and design shapes the way I approach illustration, and I like balancing expressive drawing with strong composition and visual storytelling.I really enjoy drawing weird beasts and beauties, usually with vibrant colors and harsh textures. I’m all about juxtaposition; things that feel soft and grotesque, playful and eerie, familiar and strange. A lot of my work focuses on characters and creatures that feel like they come from some slightly off-kilter fantasy world. My work ranges from packaging and branding to editorial and book illustration. No matter the format, I love creating dynamic, fantastical drawings that feel full of energy and personality. I’m especially drawn to projects that allow for creative worldbuilding and experimentation.
When I’m not drawing, you can usually find me hiking in the Wissahickon, making puppets, or hanging out at home with my girlfriend and our two cats playing games. I also love live music, especially post-hardcore and emo, and that energy definitely finds its way into my work sometimes.I try to offer a communicative and easy work experience. I work quickly, keep people updated throughout the process, and like making sure collaborators feel involved at every step. I love working with people who are just as excited about a project as I am. Let’s make your idea real, no matter how weird.
